We are a private small animal, mobile, full service veterinary practice that utilizes state of the art mobile vehicles equipped with digital x-ray, dental and surgical suite, full Idexx laboratory suite, and a full pharmacy. You'll be at the forefront of providing exceptional pet healthcare, client education, supporting veterinary procedures, and managing front-desk operations with energy and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Perform animal restraint, handling, and positioning to ensure safety for pets and staff during examinations and treatments.
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate diagnoses.
- Administer medications, monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, and assist with critical & intensive care treatments.
- Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors with precision.
- Maintain detailed veterinary records using veterinary software; document procedures, treatments, and client communications clearly.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans, post-operative care instructions, and health education.
- Uphold aseptic techniques during all procedures to prevent infections; ensure cleanliness of surgical instruments and treatment areas.
Experience
- Animal handling skills are highly valued for managing diverse pet populations confidently.
- Demonstrated veterinary technician experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and surgical assistance.
- Experience with laboratory work such as phlebotomy (blood draws) and diagnostic radiology enhances your ability to support diagnostic processes.
- Familiarity with general anesthesia protocols, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, vascular access (IV insertion), and animal catheterization is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures supports comprehensive pet dental care initiatives.
- Proficiency in veterinary software systems ensures accurate record keeping; familiarity with medical equipment operation is essential.
- Strong communication skills enable effective client interactions about pet health issues and treatment options.
