Founded in 1951, Lakeside Country Club is a top tier private member-owned country club in the West Houston area. Lakeside is a family-oriented country club that provides outstanding social and recreational services to its membership.
The main clubhouse is 87,000 square feet and is open 6 days per week, year round. Amenities include A la Carte dining, 5 Banquet rooms that can accommodate seating for 16-600, men’s and women’s grills and locker rooms, casual dining restaurant with pizza kitchen, 18 hole golf course, 5 hole par 3 course, golf teaching facility, swimming and lap pools with poolside dining, 11 outdoor tennis courts, and a 15,000 square foot fitness facility.
Job Summary: The Banquet Captain is responsible for assisting in the management of the banquet facilities in a pleasant and professional manner and assuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of all event areas.
Job Duties:
- Schedules personnel and plans banquet room set-up based upon member/guest needs
- Helps select, train, supervise and evaluate staff
- Inspects staff to ensure that they in proper and clean uniforms at all times
- Assists in providing appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, etc.
- Coordinate events with Banquet Chef
- Assures that pre-opening cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required
- May direct pre-event meetings with staff. Relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel
- Assists with service of food and beverages, table clearing and resetting as needed
- Enforces established rules, regulations, and policies in accordance with the handbook
- Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed
- Acts a s Banquet Manager in the absence of the manager; may serve as opening or closing club manager
- Attends scheduled staff and committee meetings
- Works with Bar Captain to maintain bar products/supplies inventory system
- Develops product/revenue control systems and procedures to help reduce theft
- Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed
- Assists with production of banquet function revenue analyses and other reports from the Point of Sale system
- Develops product/revenue control systems
- Interacts with purchasing department personnel relative to the procurement of beverage products and supplies
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
- Minimum high school education or equivalent
- Minimum three years experience
- TABC & Servsafe Certification
Schedule is event based and includes holidays and weekends.
