Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work using hand tools and power tools.
- Utilize MIG welding, automotive welding equipment, and soldering techniques to repair or fabricate vehicle parts accurately.
- Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying systems and ensure smooth finishes through sanding and detailing.
- Repair and replace auto glass, perform auto restoration projects, and apply fabrication repair techniques for complex bodywork.
- Use automotive repair knowledge to assess damage, prepare estimates, and communicate repair plans effectively with team members and customers.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment safely for moving large panels or vehicle components during repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety standards related to welding, sanding tools, and other power tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or repair shop environment.
- Strong skills in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, and sheet metal work with a solid understanding of automotive welding equipment.
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques including auto painting, auto glass replacement, sanding tools, and detailing.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive repair processes.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service principles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate various hand tools and power tools efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills for working with team members and clients.
