Overview
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Reach Truck/Sit Down Forklift Operator and become a vital part of our fast-paced distribution operation! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and materials handling will ensure smooth order picking, shipping, and receiving processes.
1st shift- 5:30am to 5:30pm or 6:00am to 6:00pm
2nd shift- 5:30pm to 5:30am or 6:00pm to 6:00am
Responsibilities
- Operate reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to move materials efficiently within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring proper handling of pallets and delicate items.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal forklift performance.
- Assist with order picking using various warehouse management system tools to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by stacking pallets safely and managing materials handling tasks effectively.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and best practices for heavy equipment operation to prevent accidents and injuries.
Experience
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order picking and inventory control.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards, including OSHA regulations related to lift truck operation.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving, heavy lifting, or materials handling is highly desirable.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is a plus.
