Duties:
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals to specialists, diagnostic testing facilities, home health/hospice, and DME companies.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, specialists, and insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate referral processing
- Coordinate appointments for patients with specialists and follow up on the status of referrals
- Maintain electronic medical records and update patient information as necessary
- Provide administrative support to the referral department, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing documents
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- eClinicalWorks experience required.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting (minimum of 1 year required)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of referral processes (preferred)
- Proficient in using office software and electronic medical record systems
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Description: This is a part time position in a solo physician private practice. We work Mon-Thu, but you will come to work all day. You will be responsible for all outbound referrals. You will be required to read the note, determine the correct recipient, the correct diagnosis, and create the required items for the referral packet. You will follow specific guidelines when following up on the referrals. You will have a direct front office supervisor, and an overall supervisor in the practice manager. Your second but equally important responsibility is answering the phones. it is important that you are well versed in all aspects of the healthcare field in order to correctly handle any questions the patients may have. If you have prior knowledge of ACO's, chronic care management, routine assessments, and how the well-visit process works you will be moved to the top of the stack. Someone that is able to complete their work quickly and accurately will thrive in this position.
