Job Title: Recruiting Specialist
Job Purpose and Position Overview: The Recruiting Specialist partners with the Talent Acquisition & Engagement Manager to recruit and retain skilled tradespeople for our shipyard operations, with a strong focus on welders, fabricators, shipfitters, pipefitters, laborers, and related trades. The ideal candidate will have recruiting experience in manufacturing, shipyard, or heavy construction environments and will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting and take ownership of assigned requisitions - sourcing, screening, and guiding candidates through the full hiring process.

The ideal candidate will be highly creative and possess excellent time management skills, take pride in delivering exceptional work, and consistently demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:

Source and screen candidates for production and skilled trades roles

Posting and maintain job openings across relevant platforms

Managing assigned requisitions in ADP Workforce Now (our ATS)

Conduct initial phone screens when appropriate and coordinate interview scheduling with hiring managers

Build and maintain candidate pipelines through job boards, trade school partnerships, and employee referrals

Support Talent Acquisition & Engagement Manager with employer branding efforts, including job fairs and networking events, as needed

Communicate with candidates promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience throughout the interview process

Assist with onboarding coordination and new hire paperwork as needed

Track recruiting metrics (time to fill, source effectiveness, pipeline health, etc.) report results to the Talent Acquisition & Engagement Manager
Essential Skills:

1-2+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience

Experience recruiting for manufacturing, boatbuilding, or heavy construction strongly preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously

Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities in a fast paced environment

Working knowledge of an ATS and basic candidate sourcing tools/platforms

Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn about the skilled traces being hired for

Positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
Physical Requirements:
The work environment is a dynamic, fast-paced shipyard with moderate to loud noise levels due to ongoing production activities. Job duties are performed in an office setting as well as in production areas and onboard vessels and may require:

Ability to work in shipyard production areas and onboard vessels.

Ability to walk to and from job sites and climb inclined stairways

Availability for shifts longer than 8 hours and/or weekend work if needed.

Frequent activities including walking, standing, sitting, using hands and arms, reaching, talking & hearing.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
