Assistant Teachers and Floaters for Preschool and School-Age

Ginghamsburg Preschool and Childcare Center is GROWING and looking for Assistant Teachers for Preschool-age and School-age classrooms!

Starting Pay: $14.00/per hour with opportunities for higher pay based on experience.

Hours Depend on Position/FT or PT Status:

Holidays and Closures: 11 Paid Holidays, 1 Paid Teacher In-Service Day, up to x2 Paid Snow/Emergency Days

Accountable To:

Education & Experience:

Required: Minimum of High School Diploma
1-2 years of experience working with children.
Preferred: Child Development Associates Certification (CDA), Associate’s Degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education or Related Field

Requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assist the Lead Teacher and/or Co-Teacher with the implementation of weekly lesson plans in correlation with the daily schedule,
Have the ability to plan and implement methods of establishing a positive partnership with children and families,
Have the ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships and communication with co-staff and administration,
Teacher In-service training,
First Aid and CPR/AED Training,
Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Recognition trainings,
10 hours of State-required trainings annually

This position requires a high level of physical labor including but not limited to:

Employee MUST be able to lift and hold up to 50 lbs.,
Employee should be able to sit on the floor with children for prolonged periods of time,
Employee should be able to bend and reach from floor to waist several times throughout the day,
Employee should be able to operate and drive small bus or van for summer field trips (school-age only),
Employee should be able to crawl around on the floor and interact with the children in their space.
