Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient interactions
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate dermatology consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments
- Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and accurate ICD coding for diagnoses and treatments
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as preparing patients for examinations
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, appointment availability, and insurance requirements
- Support clinic operations by managing medical documentation, processing referrals, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office management or administrative support within dermatology or related outpatient settings
- Strong knowledge of dermatology terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical-surgical procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records and medical documentation
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent healthcare safety training preferred
- Experience with hospital medicine environments such as inpatient or outpatient clinics is highly desirable
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including intake procedures, vital signs measurement, phlebotomy, and medication administration when qualified
- Excellent patient service skills with a positive attitude and professional communication abilities
