What You'll Do
As a Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician, you'll troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment at customer locations throughout Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls
- Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, heat pumps, air handlers, and exhaust systems
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration equipment and refrigeration circuits
- Service boilers and hydronic heating systems
- Diagnose electrical controls, thermostats, relays, contactors, motors, and control wiring
- Replace compressors, motors, bearings, belts, expansion valves, filters, and other HVAC/R components
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend repair or replacement solutions
- Complete electronic service tickets and work orders accurately
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and service management
Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial HVAC/R service experience
- Graduate of an accredited HVAC or mechanical technical program
- EPA Universal Certification (Required)
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment from 1-50 tons
- Strong troubleshooting skills with refrigeration systems
- Working knowledge of boilers, HVAC controls, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics
- Own standard HVAC hand tools, gauges, and electrical meters
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience servicing retail, commercial, healthcare, office, or industrial facilities
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or energy management controls
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and emergency service
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds
- Climb ladders and access rooftops
- Bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safely operate a company service vehicle
