Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and medical equipment following strict aseptic techniques.
- Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments and supplies in accordance with established protocols to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
- Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment.
- Conduct quality checks on sterilized equipment to verify proper functioning and adherence to infection prevention standards.
- Follow infection control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
- Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument processing logs, and inventory records for compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and support efficient operating room workflows.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician from an accredited program or organization.
- Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, and packaging.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.
- Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Familiarity with medical equipment sterilization methods and operation of sterilizers and washer-disinfectors.
- Ability to manage inventory efficiently while maintaining meticulous records of processed items.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment in compliance with safety regulations.
