Job Summary
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care and emergency department experience, be confident managing ventilated patients, and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including Rapid Response.
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Manage mechanical ventilation, including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, ventilator weaning, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.
- Administer respiratory medications using nebulizers, MDIs, aerosol masks, tracheostomy setups, and other medication delivery systems.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation.
- Provide airway management support, including extubation assistance, suctioning, tracheostomy care, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection.
- Deliver oxygen therapy using ET tubes, HFNC, trach collars, bag-mask ventilation, and oxygen delivery systems.
- Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in Rapid Response events.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and respiratory care team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT with significant experience may be considered per facility guidelines).
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience (5 years preferred).
- Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Valid Maryland Respiratory Therapist License or Compact License at the time of submission.
Pay: $1,800.00 - $2,000.00 per week
