Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in residential settings. Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC equipment such as compressors, condensers, thermostats, electrical components, and plumbing connections to ensure reliable operation.
- Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, and controls in residential properties following industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues early and perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to accurately assess system performance and identify faults.
- Communicate clearly with customers about system issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed service reports and documentation of work performed for each job site in compliance with company policies.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Construction experience is a plus for understanding building layouts and schematics.
- Proficiency in reading HVAC schematics, electrical diagrams, and building automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Familiarity with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems including piping repairs or replacements.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles to assist in system upgrades or new installations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; EPA certification required for refrigerant handling; familiarity with OSHA safety standards is preferred.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems repair is highly desirable.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
