Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the accuracy of the Distribution Management System (DMS) model to support safe and reliable grid operations. Coordinates model updates associated with system switching, performs GIS feeder and circuit imports, and ensures data integrity through quality assurance and control processes. Collaborates with Distribution System Operators and Engineers to reflect real-time system conditions, supports SCADA integration, and monitors model changes. Provides regular updates on modeling activities while maintaining a strong understanding of the distribution system and associated processes.
Job Responsibilities
1. Adhere to established Distribution Operations procedures regarding switching and model management.
2. Assist in the establishment of Distribution Operations procedures regarding model management.
3. Works with Distribution System Operators to understand the re-configured Distribution System for model management.
4. Assist with the commissioning of new SCADA devices for proper model management.
5. Ensure the DMS model management update process is executed per the establish procedures.
6. Update the DMS model management update process as needed, to ensure a reliable model for Operational use.
7. Coordinate all DMS model updates as a result of Distribution System switching.
8. Execute all GIS feeder/circuit imports into the DMS as needed.
9. Prioritize all distribution system changes for GIS feeder imports.
10. Validate GIS data as needed.
11. Ensure proper DMS model quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) is applied to all feeder/circuit imports.
12. Monitor and track all DMS model changes, such as temp changes, tags, notes, abnormal conditions and data issue work-arounds.
13. Provide weekly updates of Distribution System modeling activities.
14. Acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of EPE’s distribution system including EPE’s modeling processes.
15. Work with Distribution Systems Engineers to ensure reliable modeling of the Distribution System during planned switching, non-planed switching and customer interruptions.
16. Mange the customer to service transforming mapping to ensure completeness and accuracy.
17. Perform other related tasks that are not included but are within the context of the duties defined.

Education
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other analytical/technical field with basic knowledge of electric theory or power systems; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
List qualifications that are required.
1. Working knowledge of electric utility distribution systems and related components
2. Experience in the electric utility industry; GIS experience preferred
3. Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
4. Experience with Distribution Management Systems (DMS) preferred
5. Experience maintaining electrical system models, including updates, revisions, and QA/QC processes
6. Proficient in using computers and navigating multiple software applications; ability to quickly learn new systems
7. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data and model errors
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
10. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders
11. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills
12. Ability to make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations
13. Willingness to travel for training, meetings, and industry events
14. Availability for after-hours response (including 24/7 coverage as needed) during high-activity events such as storms or emergencies
15. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Physical Demands

Work Environment
· The incumbents in this classification are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; primary work environment is typically of an office or administrative nature.
· May work non-standard hours.
· May require travel to Company work sites.
· May require out of town travel.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
