The Fertilizer Technician is responsible for applying fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides to commercial and residential clients' landscape, as well as carrying out other turf care-related tasks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides to client landscapes using standard industry application equipment.
- Completes turf care-related tasks including lawn aeration.
- Calculates proper application rate and mixes chemicals accordingly.
- Prepares and submits daily reports of chemical applications.
- Administers correct handling, transporting, storage and disposal procedures for chemicals.
- Follows safety practices according to OSHA, MIOSHA and Dept of Agriculture.
- Monitors landscape & lawn heath care needs.
- Interacts respectfully with clients on-site as needed. Resolves issues or escalates to manager.
- Flexes work schedule as business demands.
- Follows all safety, PPE, and housekeeping protocols.
- Fills snow removal position during snow season and perform all associated duties.
- Reports to work on time each day, identifies and suggests job improvements, and strives for quality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver license with clean record. Chauffeur license is preferred.
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Commercial Core, 3A, 3B, and Category 6)
- Experience operating z-sprayer, aerator, push sprayer and related equipment
- Experience calculating proper application rates of fertilizer and other related chemicals
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions.
- Employee may be exposed to chemicals contained in fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides
- Employee may be required to walk for long stretches of time. Bending and carrying tools or other items may be required.
- Employee should be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
