This position performs skilled work in the operation of moderately complex medium to heavy construction equipment. The work involves the safe and skilled operating, servicing, and minor maintenance of equipment for transporting personnel and materials and may involve operating components of significant complexity or capacity. Work also involves the performance of manual tasks. Supervision may be exercised over semi-skilled workers. Candidate should possess a High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with three (3) years of experience operating automotive and construction equipment preferred. Candidate should possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), as well as a valid State of Georgia Class “A” CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Possession of Manual Transmission Endorsement preferred or be able to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a Confined Spaces certificate. Possession of a Department of Transportation Flagger certificate. Possession of a Trench Excavation certificate. An individual in this position is required to be on-call on a rotating basis and reports to the Construction or Maintenance Foreman.
