Position Overview: Wathen, Leid, Hall, and Rider are seeking an associate attorney with at least two years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is eager to take on increasing levels of responsibility within a supportive and dynamic team.
Associate Attorney Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs.
- Develop and execute defense strategies in civil litigation and insurance defense cases.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
- Manage case files from inception through trial, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and other staff to provide comprehensive legal services.
Associate Attorney Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership of the Washington State Bar Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation or insurance defense.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
- Experience with deposition and motion practice preferred.
