We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated professional who is committed to prioritizing the needs of children and families impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. The ideal candidate understands the impact of trauma on children’s overall development, behavior, and social skills, and is able to apply trauma-informed approaches in all interactions.
This individual will play a vital role in supporting children and families in a residential setting while helping create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters healing, resilience, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer domestic violence and sexual assault crisis lines with professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity
- Provide comprehensive case management services, including transportation, individualized service plans, advocacy, information, and community referrals
- Complete children's needs assessments and develop appropriate support strategies
- Facilitate educational and supportive groups for children using trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate practices
- Assist with childcare coordination and school enrollment to ensure educational stability
- Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and security of all play areas and equipment
- Complete residential intakes and respond to the daily needs of shelter residents
- Coordinate services related to parenting support and family stabilization
- Provide transportation as needed to support individual goals
- Complete monthly reports, maintain accurate documentation, and perform data entry
- Serve as the Emergency Coordinator, ensuring readiness and appropriate response to crises
- Play an instrumental role in the day-to-day management of a small residential facility
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of case management experience and/or residential management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma, domestic violence, or crisis situations
- Must have a valid Alabama driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
