The Testing and Assessment Student Assistant is responsible for duties to support the daily operations of the Testing and Assessment Center. The work includes, answering phones, polling students after their testing experience, leading students to the Advising area, filing, copying, and performance of special assignments as requested.

Minimum Education/Experience
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester.
OR
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Test Center.
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration, vendors, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and other devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to assist students or to grasp, move, or lift equipment or materials.
This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.
This position requires the person to frequently perform essential functions in narrow aisles or passageways.
This position requires the person to occasionally function around prisoners or mental patients.
Preferred Qualifications
Customer Service work experience.
Required Training Work Hours
Work hours (maximum of 25 hours per week) will be scheduled Mon – Fri. between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
