After-School Daycare Teacher

Carousel Preschool and Daycare Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic After-School Daycare Teacherto join our team. If you enjoy working with children, creating engaging activities, and making a positive impact each day, we'd love to hear from you!
This position primarily works with school-age children in our after-school program. Occasional assistance with preschool-aged children may be required as needed. All day availability during non student days (when public school is not in session) a plus.
Schedule
- Monday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 1:15 PM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- ***Possibility of a daily morning shift 7:00-8:30

Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
- Supervise school-age children during the after-school program.
- Check children in upon arrival and communicate attendance concerns with the supervisor.
- Plan and lead enrichment activities such as art, STEM, music, games, and outdoor play.
- Encourage positive social interactions and assist children with conflict resolution.
- Prepare and serve daily snacks.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support children's development.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets health and safety standards.
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, or at least 6 ECE units with current enrollment in additional ECE coursework.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate classroom practices.
- Knowledge of classroom health and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, dependable, positive, and professional.
- Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required.

Carousel Preschool and Daycare Center, Inc. is a privately owned childcare center located on the campus of an elementary school in Cypress, California. We are licensed for up to 120 children and pride ourselves on providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for every child in our care.
Our center is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and is closed on 11 major holidays each year.

Pay: $16.90 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
