Reporting to the Business Development Director – Engineering, Procurement, & Construction, the EPC Apprentice performs calibration of precision measurement equipment in the mobile calibration facility at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine calibration on Electrical/Electronics, Dimensional, Torque, Pressure, Force, and Thermodynamic instruments using precision reference standards.
- Agree to and must successfully pass Background Screenings, Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
- Agree to and must successfully pass ongoing safety training, both general and customer site-specific safety training.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot non-operational instruments and perform minor repairs under the direction of management.
- Follow calibration work instructions and methods.
- Work closely with Metrologists, Technical Managers, Metrology Engineers, and the Laboratory Manager to ensure that the assigned work is completed in a timely manner.
- Participating in inter and intra-laboratory proficiency testing.
- Must demonstrate attention to detail and conscientiousness related to the quality of work.
- Create opportunities in the CRM, create the work order, complete the job, and invoice for it.
- Be a liaison for site specific contacts
- Drive a company-issued vehicle as required for the job and follow any state and local laws while operating the vehicle.
- Adhere to all Michelli policies and procedures.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and staffing meetings on customer assigned sites.
- Complete preventative maintenance checks on assigned vehicles daily.
- Verify inventory levels of the assigned area.
- Adhere to all Michelli and customers documentation and retention standards.
- Attend recertification for on site meetings as needed by customer policies.
- Attend a training pipeline for full cycle management of assets on large scale facilities you are assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Experience across a variety of technical disciplines preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions autonomously.
- Technical reading comprehension skills.
- Strong customer service skills, including patience, attention to detail, focus, and reliability.
- Basic knowledge of industry standards, regulations, reporting procedures, and recordkeeping practices preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- Military training in Measurement Science or Calibration preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in Calibration or a related technical field preferred.
- Military experience preferred.
- Experience working in detail-oriented environments and meeting deadlines in fast-paced settings is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, and up to 24 lbs constantly.
- Ability to alternate between sitting and standing as needed.
- Travel required via company vehicle. The general travel area is within a 100-mile radius of the office.
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
