Position Summary
The Bookkeeper manages daily accounting functions, job costing, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. This role ensures accurate financial records, supports operational decision‑making, and works closely with other office staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including AP, AR, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Process vendor invoices, verify pricing, and ensure timely payments.
- Ensure pricing is kept up to date on inventory items.
- Prepare and send customer invoices.
- Track job‑costing for each project (labor hours, materials, rentals, subcontractors).
- Reconcile credit card and fuel card statements.
- Manage petty cash and field‑related expenses.
- Process quarterly/annual tax reporting (excluding payroll tax processing).
- Lead monthly finance meetings
- Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash‑flow reports.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue invoices.
- Track job profitability and identify cost overruns or margin issues.
- Provide financial summaries to ownership for strategic decision‑making.
- Build annual and quarterly budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Forecast revenue based on sales pipeline, seasonal trends, and project backlog.
- Analyze historical data to predict material usage, labor needs, and cash‑flow requirements.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; construction or trades industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of job costing, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with field and office teams.
- Familiarity with Texas business compliance is a plus.
- Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
