Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits by utilizing health insurance knowledge and EMR/EHR systems to facilitate accurate billing.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes, working diligently to resolve discrepancies and secure payments.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation related to billing transactions, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date in medical records systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD coding standards and medical terminology.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, or insurance issues while providing exceptional customer service.
- Monitor healthcare claims management workflows within billing software and EMR/EHR systems to optimize revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing or medical office administration with a solid understanding of medical terminology, records management, and healthcare claims processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with familiarity with billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, claim submission procedures, and the appeals process for denied claims.
- Expertise in CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), DRG classifications, and medical coding principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a healthcare team environment.
