Position Summary:
The Convenience Store Clerk reports directly to the Store Manager and is responsible for the safe and profitable operation of the facility, as well as creating outstanding customer experiences through exceptional customer service while transacting sales of fuel and merchandise and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
This position requires the Convenience Store Clerk to demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others by establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment alongside excellent customer service skills that serve to promote the business and encourage our customers to return.
The ideal Convenience Store Clerk also has basic proficiency in math, experience making change, operating a cash register and checking till at the end of shift. Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising procedures is preferred but not required
· Represent the company in a positive manner including, but not limited to, a pleasant greeting, smiling, thanking the customer and inviting them to return.
· Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome by answering any questions.
· Courteous, professional contact with co-workers, customers, vendors.
· Neat appearance and good personal hygiene in compliance with company image standards.
· Provide regular and predictable attendance.
· Open/close store as needed.
· Conduct all transactions and register duties accurately, quickly and in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
· Make timely drops and maintain cash till at or below max level, in accordance with company policy.
· Balance cash register at the end of shift and ensure cash is properly reconciled and closing report is executed on closing shifts.
· Perform daily station cleaning in store and on lot while maintaining a safe work environment.
· Maintain inventory, clean and restock shelves, refill dispensing machines.
· Prepare food, clean, stock and maintain food prep area in compliance with health codes.
· Take reasonable precautions and measures to ensure security of store items and aid in loss prevention.
· Comply with safety procedures and practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the store manager of any items in need of repair.
· Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
· Sell tobacco and alcohol in accordance with federal, state, local and company rules and regulations.
· Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
· Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
· Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Driver’s license

- Must be at least 19 years of age to sell tobacco products (KENAI LOCATION ONLY)

The noise level in the work environment is usually quite to moderate and may be loud on occasion. Work is usually done in a convenience store setting and sometimes out-of-doors or in extreme weather conditions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, a reflective vest and safety gloves. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical equipment.
Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour
