We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer to serve as a technical authority in the field. This role bridges engineering and construction and requires strong NEC knowledge, supervisory ability, and hands-on troubleshooting capability. This is a field-first role with regional travel.
What You’ll Do
- Lead electrical installation on commercial solar and storage projects
- Interpret and oversee implementation of construction plan sets in the field
- Identify and resolve constructability issues
- Travel to multiple job sites as needed
- Support commissioning and startup
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting
- Enforce EFS electrical standards and quality expectations
What We’re Looking For
- Journeyman Electrician license (preferred)
- 5+ years commercial electrical experience
- Strong 3-phase system knowledge
- Solar PV and/or battery storage experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and one-line diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to travel regionally

Position Summary
The Electrical Field Engineer serves as the technical bridge between engineering and field operations for commercial and industrial solar and storage projects. This role leads electrical execution in the field while supporting constructability, troubleshooting, inspection readiness, and engineering integration.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Field Leadership
- Lead electrical installation on assigned projects
- Supervise electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors
- Ensure NEC compliance and adherence to EFS standards
- Support and coordinate AHJ inspections
Engineering Integration & Plan Interpretation
- Review electrical plan sets prior to mobilization
- Identify constructability conflicts and propose solutions
- Provide redline feedback and as-built documentation
- Assist engineering team with field-based technical insights
Multi-Site Technical Support
- Travel to active job sites to support installation and troubleshooting
- Assist with commissioning and startup activities
- Provide surge technical support during complex installations
- Step into field leadership roles as needed
Maintenance & Service Support (as needed)
- Diagnose and resolve system underperformance issues
- Support inverter, combiner, monitoring, and storage troubleshooting
- Lead corrective or warranty-related electrical work
- Assist with retrofits and system upgrades
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years commercial electrical experience
- Strong working knowledge of NEC
- Experience with 3-phase systems
- Solar PV and/or battery storage experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to safety and quality standards

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
