Join the team at Scoundrel
Scoundrel is modern French dining, Michelin-starred and led by Chef Joe Cash on Main Street in downtown Greenville. The food is approachable. The execution is flawless. The service is genuine, and the hospitality is real.
We are looking for an Assistant General Manager who’s equal parts hospitality brain and floor presence: effortlessly cool under pressure, deeply capable, and always in service of the room.
You’ll support the GM in building a stronger team and an even sharper service, so every night feels intentional, seamless, and unmistakably Scoundrel.
Who you are
You’re hospitality-first with serious service chops and real management experience in high-quality restaurant operations. You’re dependable, motivated, and team-minded. You build trust through clear communication and thoughtful service, both for guests and for the people working beside you.
You lead by example. You challenge the team, celebrate the wins, and don’t let details slide.
What you’ll do
Create culture
- Set the tone: professional, warm, high standards, no ego.
- Lead with care and standards so the team stays engaged and proud, because the energy behind the scenes becomes the guest experience.
- Build accountability that feels supportive, not punitive.
Run service
- Own the floor with calm awareness and quick decisions.
- Step in, fill gaps, and “put out fires” before they become smoke.
- Keep communication flowing between FOH and BOH.
- Ensure menus are current, printed, and ready to go.
- Model authentically warm hospitality every night.
- Build relationships with regulars, friends of the house, investors, and industry guests.
Guest relations
- Perform advanced hospitality: spot the openings to personalize a guest’s experience, and turn the small moments into memories that bring them back.
- Improve standards of the guest experience, keeping the bar high and the goal simple: exceed expectations.
- Handle issues with grace, speed, and follow-through.
Communication
- Maintain internal email communication and a clean, useful MOD log.
- Share the right information with the right people. Timely, professional, transparent.
- Keep staff and managers informed with timely, professional updates from leadership.
Training + development
- Support onboarding and ongoing education with clear training materials.
- Create and distribute info sheets/spec sheets for menu and beverage updates.
- Coach in the moment and build confidence across the team.
Day-to-day leadership
- Respond to emails/voicemails promptly and route messages appropriately.
- Support the GM on projects and operational priorities.
- Prep each night’s plan before pre-shift: floor plan, reservations, talking points, special notes.
- Assist with ordering and administrative needs as required.
- Must be available for active service and closing shifts across varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required skills + experience
- Significant management experience in high quality restaurant operations
- 2–4 years of fine dining restaurant management experience
