Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods confidently while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts while adhering to store policies
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively and provide clear information
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or managing shifts
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base more effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cashiering and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos to enhance sales opportunities
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude and proactive approach to assisting shoppers
