Overview
The Sales Manager will play a key role in driving United States sales growth within the assigned region and assigned customers. This position requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in sales, particularly in the food services, supermarket, and food processor packaging industry.
The successful candidate, based in the United States, will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with distributors, supermarkets, food service chains, and food processors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing and growing our key client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop new business with new clients and existing clients to meet sales goals- cold calls, broker communication, industry research, maintain CRM information, network building, offer new solutions, listen to the customer’s needs, sales report analyzation.
- Analyze and report current market trends and activity to customers and internal team members in order to be recognized as a resource partner; join/receive industry trend articles, and network with other industry members.
- Lead and manage a network of Foodservice Brokers and their sales teams in the Midwestern Region of the USA to achieve volume growth and financial targets per plan and maintain focus on priorities.
- Participate in the development of strategic Sales and Marketing Plans including Pricing Strategies and Trade Spend and make recommendations based on market insights and knowledge.
- Negotiate and manage the distribution channel to achieve volume growth and financial targets as per plan.
- Effectively manage across the sales cycle, leveraging a robust pipeline and sales tools.
- Prospect and qualify potential new large Foodservice, Grocer and Food Processor customers by leveraging your growing network (including social network).
- Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
2. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and new distributors, Grocer, Foodservice chains, and Food Processors. Regular update of CRM.
3. Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new opportunities.
4. Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our product offerings to effectively communicate features and benefits to clients.
5. New product Development: Instrumental in driving innovative and incremental new product development initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Negotiation: Conduct negotiations, prepare contracts, and close deals to drive revenue growth.
7. Forecasting: Provide accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts and reports to the leadership team.
8. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
What we're looking for
- Post-secondary education (Business degree is preferred).
- 5+ years of proven sales experience in Foodservice or food packaging industries.
- Strong network and relationships within the packaging, supermarket, foodservice, and food processing sectors.
- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Able to quickly identify and commercialize key business development opportunities.
Asset
- Experience in plastic food packaging.
