American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and prior travel nursing experience for a 13-week acute care assignment in Wisconsin.

Acute care hospital OR setting with 6 OR suites and 2 GI suites, averaging 12 cases per day
-
Common case types include total joints, ORIFs, tendon repairs, hernia, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, robotic bowel resection, endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsil and adenoid (peds), and ophthalmic procedures (cataracts, blepharoplasty)

OR techs and CRNAs are part of the team

Primary schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)

Weeknight call required 1 night per week, covering from end of cases until 6:30 AM the following day

Weekend call required every 3rd to 4th weekend, Friday 6:30 PM through Monday 6:30 AM

Call response time is 30 minutes

Trauma Level 4 facility
-
Charting in Cerner (transitioning to Epic)

Occasional opportunity to float to ED, MS, or LTC based on comfort level

Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date)

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required

Minimum 3 years of OR experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Experience in general surgery and orthopedic (total joints) required

Robotics experience required
-
GI experience preferred

Scrubbing skills preferred but not required

2 references required: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience and 1 peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years in the specialty

Facility will train on cataract cases

Scrub color is gray; scrubs are provided by the facility

Orientation is up to 4 shifts, including a cataract-specific orientation shift

Travelers are expected to work the majority of holidays, specifically 2 out of 3 winter holidays

Candidates who previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date, and hospital approval is required

Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a reduced travel pay rate
