Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead and oversee all aspects of sheet metal installation projects within the construction industry. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a Sheet Metal Foreman, you will manage teams of skilled workers, coordinate with project managers, and ensure compliance with construction safety regulations and technical specifications. Your leadership will drive efficiency on-site while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Duties
- Supervise and manage sheet metal crews, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure project milestones are met efficiently
- Review construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to interpret project requirements accurately
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to develop and maintain construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software
- Conduct regular safety meetings in accordance with OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations
- Oversee quality control processes, inspecting work for adherence to blueprints, schematics, and industry standards
- Manage procurement of materials using HeavyBid or other estimating tools, ensuring timely delivery of supplies
- Supervise the installation of ductwork, piping, and other sheet metal components on construction sites while managing crew safety and productivity
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy commercial or industrial construction environments with a focus on sheet metal work
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams in a fast-paced construction setting
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical schematics
- Familiarity with construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and management software like ProCore or Bluebeam
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, federal safety regulations, and construction safety management practices
- Skilled in managing budgets, project scheduling, and coordinating multiple trades on-site
- Ability to operate tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensure quality control measures are met
- Excellent managerial communication skills to effectively lead crews and liaise with project stakeholders
- Valid certifications in construction management software applications and safety regulations preferred
- Construction site experience with a focus on managing crews in commercial or industrial projects is essential
