Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision
- Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas and bus tables efficiently to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow sanitation standards and health regulations to ensure kitchen cleanliness and safety at all times
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques
- Support kitchen staff by providing clean utensils and equipment promptly during busy service hours
- Maintain a high level of hygiene by regularly sanitizing workstations, sinks, and surrounding areas according to kitchen health and safety standards
Experience
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued highly
- Familiarity with food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety standards is advantageous
- Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools confidently
- Experience with manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or repetitive motions is beneficial
