Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Truck Driver/Yard Worker with a CDL Class A license to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine professional truck driving with yard operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight and materials. You will be responsible for operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and hazardous materials transport vehicles, while also managing yard activities such as cargo handling and equipment operation. Your energy and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional service while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, adhering to safety protocols.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, optimizing delivery schedules and maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Handle various types of cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with Hazardous Materials Regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Manage yard operations by organizing freight, directing traffic within the yard, and maintaining a clean and secure environment.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards; report any issues promptly.
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate logs for driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, route driving, or delivery roles involving freight handling.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and hazardous materials transport vehicles.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning strategies.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely; experience operating forklifts is a plus.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety protocols related to trucking and cargo handling.
- Strong physical stamina for load & unload activities; capable of working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and yard operations efficiently.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
