My client is a leading Power Generator company located in Concord, CA. They work on commercial and industrial Generators to provide service, repair, maintainence and complete Install and de-commission of old generators. They operate within a 60 mile radius of Concord, CA and the tech will be required to work in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years' previous experience as a Generator Technician and be confident working independently in a field based role. Certification in Generator Mechanics or heavy mechanics would be ideal, however not required, as we understand that a great tech is often created through on the job learning.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 3 years' experience as a Generator Technician
- Confident and experienced in working in the field independently
- Excellent customer service skills, able to keep calm, and explain the issues to customers in a way they can understand.
- Experience with load bank testing is required
- Previous experience working with automatic transfer switches is desirable.
- Proven knowledge of completing general service and maintainence of diesel generators is required, including changing parts, completing oil changes, topping up fluids and diagnosing and completing minor repairs.
- Previous experience working with Generators such as Generac, John Deer and Cummins is highly desirable
- Generac Certification is highly desirable but not required.
- Must have a full, clean drivers license.
- You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide strong customer service.
The Role:
- Work in the field (within a 60 mile raidus of Concord, CA) to provide mobile servicingm repairs and maintainence to the companies commercial and insutrial clients.
- Use a hand-held PDA to provide service reports and repair information to the service manager.
- Order required parts via the office, and collec required parts to complete specific jobs.
- Ensure customers understand their equipment issues and support them through the process of getting it fixed, attend call backs with a smile.
- Work within health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Complete load bank testing, general service such as oils changes, filter changes and fluid top ups, complete diagnostic activities and complete minor repairs
