We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Activity Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging community-based activities for clients with disabilities. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our clients. This may include:
- Attending sporting events, concerts, and festivals
- Visiting museums, art galleries, and zoos
- Exploring parks, nature trails, and recreational areas
- Participating in fitness classes, adaptive sports, and other wellness activities
- Enjoying social events, dining out, and trying new experiences
- Provide transportation and support to clients during community outings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Build positive relationships with clients, fostering their independence and encouraging their active participation in activities.
- Collaborate with support staff, families, and community partners to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible to all.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, client participation, and any incidents or concerns.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Stay up-to-date on accessibility resources and inclusive practices in the community.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record and personal vehicle (required)
- First Aid/CPR certification required
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
- Must pass a background Check
- Schedule: Monday 9-3, Friday 9-3
- Potential for more hours in the future
