Job Overview
Brown's Bridge Housing, Inc. a nonprofit organization is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and mission-driven Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide behavioral health services to adults residing in our Interim Housing Program. The LCSW will provide clinical assessments, individual counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and behavioral health treatment while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize participants and support their transition into permanent housing.
This position plays a vital role in promoting mental wellness, reducing psychiatric crises, improving housing stability, and helping clients achieve long-term independence through evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and behavioral health assessments.
- Complete mental health evaluations and determine appropriate levels of care.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments for suicide, homicide, self-harm, and grave disability.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services.
- Coordinate psychiatric evaluations and medication management referrals.
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Case Collaboration
- Work closely with Case Managers, Program Managers, LVNs, Housing Navigators, and County partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Provide clinical consultation regarding client behavior and treatment recommendations.
- Assist staff in developing behavioral intervention plans.
- Support clients through transitions into permanent housing.
- Coordinate referrals to outpatient behavioral health providers, hospitals, substance use treatment, and community resources.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies.
- Complete assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and clinical reports within required timelines.
- Ensure documentation complies with Medi-Cal, Department of Health Services (DHS), Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR), HIPAA, and all applicable regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.
Behavioral Health Services
- Provide trauma-informed care utilizing Housing First principles.
- Support clients with severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance use disorders.
- Assist clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, psychosis, and adjustment disorders.
- Support medication adherence through collaboration with nursing staff and psychiatric providers.
- Conduct safety planning with high-risk clients.
Program Support
- Provide clinical training and coaching to staff.
- Assist with critical incident reviews.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with County contracts and accreditation standards.
- Participate in case reviews and utilization management meetings.
Community Collaboration
- Maintain relationships with hospitals, behavioral health providers, probation, parole, Department of Mental Health, Department of Health Services, and community-based organizations.
- Advocate for client access to behavioral health, medical care, housing, employment, and benefits.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with external partners.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
- Active California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in good standing.
- Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, serious mental illness, substance use disorders, justice involvement, or co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Valid California Driver's License with reliable transportation.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Successful completion of DOJ Live Scan, TB clearance, and all required employment screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Interim Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, or Housing First programs.
- Knowledge of Los Angeles County DHS, DMH, and ODR systems.
- Experience with motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction.
- Familiarity with HMIS, CHAMP, or electronic health record systems.

Work Environment
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker works primarily within Interim Housing facilities providing direct clinical services to adults experiencing homelessness. The work environment includes office settings, client living areas, community meetings, and occasional field visits. The position requires flexibility, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to respond to behavioral health emergencies.

Pay: $40.00 - $46.00 per hour
