Teacher Associate

Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support to help ensure a safe, positive, and stimulating educational environment.
- Assist the teacher with planning, preparation, and implementation of daily instructional activities.
- Support the teacher’s instructional efforts by assisting students individually, in small groups, or during whole-group activities.
- Assist with preparing lesson outlines, instructional plans, classroom materials, and curriculum-related resources in assigned areas.
- Prepare and develop teaching aids for classroom use, including activity sheets, handouts, drawings, displays, and other instructional materials.
- Present or reinforce subject matter under the guidance of the teacher using a variety of instructional methods, including stories, discussions, role play, guided practice, and hands-on activities.
- Lead or assist with classroom activities as directed by the teacher.
- Support students with lesson assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist with classroom management by reinforcing expectations, routines, and positive student behavior.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned duty areas.
- Communicate professionally and appropriately with students, staff, parents, and campus leadership.
- Confer with parents regarding student progress only when directed by or in the absence of the teacher, and in accordance with campus procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records, student needs, family information, and school-related matters.
- May assist with guiding student workers, interns, volunteers, or other individuals performing related classroom support duties.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, professional development, and school activities as assigned.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Minimum of 60 college credit hours or an Associate’s Degree preferred.
- One year of experience as a Teacher Assistant, Teacher Aide, or similar role in an elementary or secondary school setting preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, youth program, or similar setting preferred.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks and employment screenings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to support classroom instruction and reinforce teacher-led lessons.
- Ability to supervise students and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Ability to provide activities and support that encourage healthy academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Ability to provide a supportive, respectful, and caring environment for students.
- Skill in preparing instructional aids, classroom materials, and lesson-support resources.
- Strong organizational, teamwork, and time-management skills.
- Ability to exercise patience, professionalism, and good judgment when working with students.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.

Work Schedule
This is a 10-month position with salary payments distributed over 12 months, including the summer months. The regular work schedule will follow the assigned campus schedule and may vary based on the needs of the school or department.
Compensation: Salary range $30,000 – $40,000, commensurate with experience and position responsibilities.
