This is a skilled position responsible for performing technical duties in the operation of enterprise, client/server and desktop computer systems and networks. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for going on service calls to customer worksites and ensuring that world class customer service is delivered to our customers, while performing necessary work required to repair, maintain and service the customer's data network.
Physical Requirements & Job Environment:
Requires working primarily inside and sometimes in confined spaces. Must be able to drive to customer worksites, stand for long periods, sit bend, stoop, and manually lift 50 lbs.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists customers to resolve problems with computer hardware and software.
Respond to queries either in person, over the phone or by email.
Maintain performance of computer systems through back-up, recovery and systems monitoring.
Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
Ensure that all service tickets are complete and fully accurate and turned in to Sales & Service Coordinator with any questions or concerns regarding tickets.
Assist with counting inventory on a monthly basis and at year end.
Perform other related work as required.

In-depth knowledge of operating systems hardware architecture; enterprise operating systems; network operating systems concepts; automated operations applications; principles and practices of effective communication.

Educational Requirements:
Two (2) years of experience performing enterprise and/or client/server work for a small to medium scale computer system under advanced operating systems. Of the two (2) years' experience, one (1) year responsible for operating the enterprise, client/server or network and related peripheral equipment. An Associates of Arts degree in computer science or completion of a certificate program that is equivalent to the major course work for an Associate of Arts degree in computer science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

In the event of a personal emergency situation that would require ongoing mobile phone usage a request and notification of such must be presented to Administration and approved by such.

Must continue to do ongoing training either on the job, programs, seminar or webinars, some will be provided by MTG but employee must dedicate him or herself to ongoing education relative to the position and job skills required.
