Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service.
- Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and serving processes, following all health regulations.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, dietary department work, or restaurant cooking.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Skilled in food handling techniques including slicing, knife skills, and recipe adherence.
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working in fast-paced kitchens or food service establishments is preferred.
