Assistant Beverage Manager

Legendary Events is seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Assistant Beverage Manager to support beverage operations across our venues and events. This role works closely with the Beverage Manager to coordinate event beverage needs, manage inventory, support and develop staff, and ensure exceptional service from setup through breakdown.
The ideal candidate has a strong hospitality background, understands beverage and event operations, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two events are exactly alike.
What You'll Do
- Support beverage planning and execution for events, including reviewing BEOs, forecasting product needs, coordinating specialty items, and preparing event-specific beverage requirements.
- Serve as the on-site beverage lead for designated events and help ensure smooth setup, service, and breakdown.
- Support Beverage Coordinators and bartending teams while troubleshooting operational issues as they arise.
- Assist with ordering beer, wine, spirits, bar supplies, and other operational materials.
- Receive and verify deliveries, maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and help maintain appropriate par levels.
- Conduct routine beverage inventories and assist with month-end inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain organized, clean, and properly rotated beverage storage areas.
- Assist with scheduling, recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of Beverage Coordinators and bartenders.
- Coach team members on beverage knowledge, guest service standards, responsible alcohol service, and company procedures.
- Support beverage cost tracking, product pricing, vendor communications, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure beverage operations meet applicable alcohol service laws, health and safety requirements, and Legendary Events standards.
- Collaborate with Event Managers, Sales, Production, Staffing, Accounting, vendors, distributors, and venue partners to support successful events.
What We're Looking For
- 2–3+ years of experience in beverage operations, hospitality, catering, restaurants, or event management.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, beverage service, and event operations.
- Excellent organizational, inventory management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach and support a service-focused team.
- Ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Caterease or similar event management software is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs.
Who You'll Work With
This position reports to the Beverage Manager and provides direct operational support to Beverage Coordinators and bartenders. You'll also work closely with Legendary Events' Event Management, Sales, Production, Staffing, and Accounting teams, as well as clients, guests, vendors, distributors, and venue partners.
