Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple systems. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, and regulatory standards. Duties
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and governmental regulations
- Reconcile balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and bank statements to maintain precise financial records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software like NetSuite, Xero, or Sage
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities with detailed account analysis and data entry tasks, experience with inventory accounting would be a plus
- Assist with internal controls compliance, including SOX testing and documentation procedures
- Conduct Excel data analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, or anomalies in financial data
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions while demonstrating strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments; experience in manufacturing is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Xero, Sage or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts including journal entries and account reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Knowledge of internal controls including SOX compliance procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities to support cross-functional teams
Pay: $63,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
