About the Opportunity
Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Leonardtown, MD seeking a caring and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one nursing support for a medically complex female middle school student.
The student requires skilled nursing care and support during transportation and throughout the school day. The student has a tracheostomy (trach), G-tube, and uses a wheelchair.
This position is supported by school clinic RNs who provide supervision, and selected candidates will interview with the Medical Director and Special Education Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct one-on-one nursing care to a medically complex student
- Monitor and manage tracheostomy and G-tube needs
- Ensure student safety during school transportation (bus run) and school activities
- Assess and respond to changes in the student's condition
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, clinic RNs, and care team members
- Follow physician orders, nursing standards, and district policies
Requirements
- Current Maryland LPN license (required)
- Minimum one (1) year of pediatric nursing experience (required)
- Experience caring for patients with tracheostomies and G-tubes strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to provide skilled nursing services independently in a school setting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Assignment Details
- Competitive pay: $41 to $44 per hour
