Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Sterling VA
Schedule: Sat & sun 1p-8p
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities? Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), providing compassionate care and support to a pediatric client in their home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one care and support to a child with developmental disabilities in a home setting.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Follow individualized care plans to ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Encourage participation in activities that foster learning, social interaction, and community involvement.
- Document daily progress, observations, and any incidents accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement personalized goals and interventions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment for the client.
Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Prior experience working with children with disabilities or developmental challenges. RBT Experience plus not required .
- Familiarity with dementia care, monitoring vital signs, and HIPAA regulations is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with the client, their family, and the care team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
- Commitment to working scheduled weekend shifts.
