Help maintain the facilities that keep Wichita's water system operating safely and reliably. As a Custodial Worker 2 in the Production and Pumping Division, you will perform advanced custodial and facility support work in water treatment plants, pumping stations, and other operational buildings that provide essential public utilities. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and inspection-ready facilities through the operation of motorized custodial equipment, inventory management, minor building and equipment repairs, and day-to-day guidance of entry-level custodial staff. Your work directly supports employee safety, regulatory compliance, and the uninterrupted operation of critical water infrastructure. Starting Salary Range: $18.09 - $20.47 depending on experience and qualifications
Workdays and Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Six months of experience performing custodial maintenance work which includes the operation and maintenance of motorized custodial equipment.

A valid driver’s license.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Training

Two (2) years of experience performing custodial or janitorial work in a water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, utility facility, manufacturing facility, industrial facility, government building, healthcare facility, educational facility, or multi-building campus.
Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which includes drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of the results of a criminal records check.
Starting pay for current City employees will be determined by City of Wichita policy or applicable bargaining unit agreement.
