*Position Overview:*
As a Teacher's Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, supporting their exploration and early learning. Collaborating closely with the lead teacher and colleagues, you will contribute to the development of essential social, cognitive, and motor skills during this critical stage of growth.
*Responsibilities:*
1. *Daily Care and Routine:* Assist in maintaining a consistent daily schedule for children, including meal times, naps, and play activities. Support in diapering, toilet training, and dressing as needed.
2. *Curriculum Implementation:* Assist the lead teacher in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that foster language development, sensory exploration, creativity, and motor skills. Contribute to the creation of engaging lesson plans.
3. *Engagement and Interaction:* Interact with children through conversations, play, and educational games. Foster positive relationships and provide emotional support to help them develop social skills.
4. *Safety and Supervision:* Monitor children closely to ensure their safety at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Adhere to strict health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a secure environment.
5. *Behavior Guidance:* Implement positive behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and teach self-regulation skills to children.
6. *Communication:* Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, sharing information about daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Collaborate with the lead teacher to provide insights into each child's development.
7. *Classroom Organization:* Assist in arranging the classroom layout to optimize learning and play. Ensure that materials and supplies are accessible and well-maintained.
8. *Documentation:* Contribute to keeping accurate records of children's activities, behaviors, and milestones. Assist in preparing progress reports and assessments.
9. *Assistance with Transitions:* Help children smoothly transition between activities, meals, and nap times. Provide emotional support during times of separation anxiety.
10. *Team Collaboration:* Work as part of a team to create a positive and cohesive classroom environment. Share ideas, provide support to colleagues, and contribute to a harmonious atmosphere.
*Qualifications:*
- High School Diploma or equivalent; coursework or certifications in Early Childhood Education are a plus.
- Genuine passion for working with children and an understanding of their unique developmental needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with children in a nurturing and respectful manner.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with colleagues, parents, and guardians.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining records and preparing classroom materials.
- Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of children's interactions and activities.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience working with children is an asset.
