Overview
Join our dynamic environmental services team as a Housekeeper/Floorcare Specialist, where your dedication to cleanliness and safety will directly enhance the comfort and well-being of our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining pristine environments through comprehensive cleaning, floor care, and sanitation practices. Your proactive approach will ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection prevention standards, creating a safe and welcoming space for staff, residents, and visitors alike.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
- Execute floor care procedures including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Safely handle chemical agents and cleaning supplies following OSHA guidelines to prevent contamination or accidents
- Conduct sanitation procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control standards to minimize cross-contamination risks
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items
Experience
- Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or commercial settings required;
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental services
- Demonstrated ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, residents and visitors
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safety protocol adherence consistently
- Previous experience in floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing or carpet extraction is desirable
