The Role
The Senior Project Leader (Senior PL) is a high-level construction leader responsible for Holland’s most complex projects and communities. Senior PLs not only run job sites but also mentor Project Leaders and Assistant Project Leaders, enforce process accountability, and partner with leadership to drive efficiency and quality across the division.
This is a field-based leadership role requiring both technical expertise and strong people leadership.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and oversee PLs and APLs across multiple projects.
- Model Holland’s culture of urgency, accountability, and excellence.
Project Oversight
- Lead large communities or multiple job sites simultaneously.
- Perform QC inspections and enforce Holland’s quality standards.
Scheduling & Reporting
- Ensure schedules are maintained across multiple sites.
- Review reports submitted by PLs/APLs and escalate risks as needed.
Budget & Procurement
- Oversee budgets and VPO approvals.
- Collaborate with Finance and Purchasing on forecasting and cost control.
Accountability & Collaboration
- Serve as escalation point for trade disputes, local inspections, or scope changes.
- Deliver quarterly reporting on budget, cycle times, and quality metrics.
The Person
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive residential construction leadership experience.
- Proficiency with Buildertrend, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Procore, or PlanSwift.
- Track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to high quality standards.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple leaders.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: From $85,000
- Incentives: Performance-based
