Under the direction of the unit supervisor, provides supervision to probation officers processing cases under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court and Juvenile Services. Supervise probation offices appropriate actions through observation, consultation and review of documentation. Ensure that the directives of the Court and policies, problem solving and oversees the delivery of services of the clients under the department’s supervision.
1. Provides in service training for probation officers.
2. Assigns cases to the probation officers.
3. Conducts audits and reviews the progress of all current cases.
4. Directs the development of case management plans.
5. Insures that necessary data is collected.
6. Insures that court reports are properly prepared for court.
7. Serves on department Resource Staffing Committee.
8. Serves as a liaison between Juvenile Services and the Courts, Social Services Agencies, Schools and other professional disciplines.
9. Evaluates employee performance and formulate plans for improvements.
10. Provides coverage and ancillary support for staff absences.
11. Assists in the absence of the supervisor.
12. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor Degree.

Minimum of two years full-time casework, counseling or community group work.

Must posses a valid Texas Drivers License and proof of liability insurance.

Ability to obtain certification by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

Bilingual abilities in Spanish are preferred.
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull.
