The Lab Technician is responsible for assisting the R&D team with R&D projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in microbiology laboratory environments. The Lab Technician will report to the EVP of Technology and have interactions with the R&D Team as well as the QA/QC Team.
Responsibilities:
Job duties include, but not limited to:
· Preparing microbiological media and pouring plates
· Sample plating and incubation under aerobic and anaerobic conditions
· Perform the sample analysis following the SCD in-house SOP’s
· General laboratory skills including ability to accurately use a balance, pH meter, autoclave etc., and knowledge of typical laboratory procedures
· Calibrating laboratory equipment and maintenance of the equipment
· Other duties as required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree ( biochemistry, biology, analytical chemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, food science, or related fields)
Experience:
· Aseptic microbiological techniques
· Experience in fermentation products or crop agriculture is preferred
Skills:
· Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with both internal and external groups
· Strong trouble shooting skills
Typical Mental Demands:
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and complete multiple tasks at the same time
· Ability to work independently or within a team with supervision
