Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and hair extensions using advanced techniques such as balayage, highlights, and color theory principles
- Conduct consultations with clients to understand their preferences and recommend suitable treatments or styles
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by adhering to strict sterilization protocols for tools like straight razors and scissors
- Manage appointments efficiently using salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms to optimize scheduling and client flow
- Upsell retail products related to hair care, nail care, makeup application, and skincare to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
- Provide expert services in specialized areas such as eyelash extensions, hair threading, and nail care when applicable
- Foster a welcoming environment through effective communication skills, client communication, and personalized service that builds trust and loyalty
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse hairstyling techniques
- Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering from an accredited program; additional training in hair coloring, hair extensions, or makeup is a plus
- Familiarity with salon management practices including retail sales, retail math, front desk operations, and store management responsibilities
- Knowledge of sanitation standards specific to cosmetology tools such as straight razors and implements used for hair threading or eyelash extensions
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients about their desired outcomes while offering professional advice based on color theory and current trends
- Experience using salon software platforms like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management is highly desirable
