Job Title: Auto Body R&I Technician / Production Support
Hansford’s Hail & Dent Repair is a growing auto body and hail repair shop in Colorado Springs. We specialize in hail damage repair, paintless dent repair, insurance claims, dealership work, wholesale repair, and body shop-related repairs.
We are looking for an experienced Auto Body R&I Technician / Production Support person to help keep vehicles moving through the shop. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on automotive experience, understands removal and installation procedures, and is willing to help with all areas of production support.
This is not just a detailer or porter position. R&I will be a major part of the job, but we also need someone who can run vehicles, stage cars, assist technicians, help with check-ins and check-outs, maintain the shop, and keep the building/property organized and professional.
The right person will be dependable, hands-on, mechanically inclined, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform R&I work on vehicles for hail, PDR, body, and collision-related repairs.
- Remove and reinstall trim, lights, bumpers, moldings, liners, handles, interior panels, headliners, mirrors, racks, and related components.
- Assist with vehicle disassembly and reassembly before and after repairs.
- Move vehicles in and out of the shop safely.
- Run vehicles to and from dealership lots, body shops, detailers, glass companies, and vendors.
- Help technicians stay productive by staging vehicles, getting keys, moving cars, and preparing the next vehicle.
- Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out photos when needed.
- Help inspect vehicles before delivery to make sure they are clean, complete, and ready for the customer or dealership.
- Perform basic detailing, washing, vacuuming, and cleanup as needed.
- Keep the shop, customer areas, parking lot, and work areas clean and organized.
- Perform basic shop and building maintenance, including trash, light bulbs, cleaning, lot organization, and general upkeep.
- Help maintain tools, parts, supplies, and shop equipment.
- Pick up and deliver parts or supplies as needed.
- Support the shop during busy hail season and help keep production moving.
- Communicate clearly with managers, technicians, customers, and dealership contacts.
- Follow safety procedures and take care of customer vehicles.
Qualifications
- Prior R&I experience in an auto body, collision, dealership, hail repair, or automotive repair environment required.
- Must be comfortable removing and reinstalling vehicle trim, panels, lights, bumpers, moldings, liners, and interior components.
- Mechanical knowledge and general automotive experience strongly preferred.
- Detail experience is preferred.
- Must be able to safely drive and move customer vehicles.
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to follow directions.
- Must be willing to help with shop support, cleanup, vehicle movement, and building maintenance when not actively doing R&I.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean/reasonable driving record.
- Must be physically able to lift, bend, kneel, work around vehicles, and perform hands-on shop tasks.
- Experience with hail repair, PDR, dealership work, or collision repair is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday–Friday. Standard shop hours are generally 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, but this role may require adjusted hours during busy hail season. Seasonal overtime may be available or required depending on workload.
Compensation
$24–$35 per hour depending on experience, skill level, reliability, and ability to work independently.
Bonus or performance opportunities may be available for the right person.
