We are looking for passionate educators to join a new early childhood education team as a Lead Daycare Toddler Teacher opening very soon in the Baton Rouge area. Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring a stimulating and nurturing environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Closely monitor children and classroom activities at all times.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to support comprehensive childhood development
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies, promoting respect and cooperation among children
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and support children's welfare effectively
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and student interns to ensure high-quality childcare and educational standards are maintained
- Plan lessons that integrate early intervention techniques and special education strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's developmental milestones, attendance, and assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements when applicable
- Maintain regular, friendly communication with parents and guardians and provide the required daily updates through parent communication apps.
- Participate in all scheduled professional development.

Required Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Required. (Bachelor's Prefered, but not required)
- CDA Certification- actively obtaining or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- 1-2 years of relevant, verifiable experience as a teacher in a daycare setting.
- Must meet state licensing requirements for early childhood staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion and positive/respectful attitude for nurturing young children.
Skills
- Experience in classroom management and lesson planning within early childhood education settings
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children and toddlers
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services
- Familiarity with Montessori principles, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education for young learners
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners confidently
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques that foster a positive classroom atmosphere
- Experience in childcare environments such as daycare centers or private schools with preschool experience preferred
